Hello there! :)

As you might imagine by now my name is Jaime, I am from Madrid (Spain) and I work as a visual effects compositor but when I am not in front of the computer working with Nuke it is because I am behind a camera.

​

I never imagined that this would be the way my life would take but here I am, years after realizing that this is my passion and what I want to dedicate my time to.

​

Star Wars, Marvel, DC, science fiction in general (and yes, specifically superheroes) is what makes me want to do this the most. It's what I've grown up with and if I ever have kids I hope I'll be able to show them the cool staff his father has worked in.

More than a compositor

​

Professionally I've spent the last 5 years making people be where they are not, erasing what is not supposed to be seen, creating what should be seen or making CGI characters to ''look nicer''.

 

I consider myself lucky. In this time I have gone through many places as a freelancer in TV shows, film, animation, advertising projects... and thanks to that I have met wonderful people in international companies like SSVFX, UPP or Platige Image and Spanish studios like Illusorium Studios, Do Postproduction or Deluxe Spain.

In 2021 I achieved one of my goals which was teaching vfx compositing. It was a great experience and I am glad that I took the step and proved to myself that I could teach others. I can't wait to do it again.

​

There is something I like even more and that is photography. I believe that to be a good compositor I must first be a good photographer and that is why I am always researching about it. In the future I would like to make my passion more professional and to be able to travel photographing the world.

​

But that's not all

​

Alongside VFX I studied cinematography, filmmaking, motion graphics & 3D imagery and with my growing interest in virtual production thanks to The Mandalorian I hope to be able to participate in a LED wall stage production soon. That's why I'm also researching new technologies like Unreal Engine.

​

In general as you can see I am interested in anything that involves having an image in front of me. That's why I'll be happy to participate in new projects to continue growing as an artist and as a person.
